Nowadays, in the core of any technological innovation there is unavoidably a heavy use of the state-of-art computational methods to get effective design, reduced time and cost of the solution. The CILAMCE conference series is a consolidated international forum in which engineers, researchers and students can exchange ideas and information about their investigations and developments on computational methods, on currently available computational systems and on improvements in computer technology to solve a broad range of complex, practical or theoretical, engineering and science problems.
The CILAMCE Congresses, encompassing different Engineering fields, started in 1979 in Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil, as a continuation of Civil Engineering conferences held in Rio de Janeiro in 1977 and in São Paulo in 1978. Over the last 30 years the CILAMCE conference has played a major role in the dissemination of the most recent computational applications and computational developments throughout the Iberian Latin American community. Most of its earlier editions were organized in Brazil and also including joint and very successful organizations in Portugal (2), Spain (1), Italy (1), Chile (1) and Argentina (4).
ABMEC, the Brazilian Association for Computational Methods in Engineering, is proud to be in charge of keeping CILAMCE’s 30 years tradition among our scientific community. We are very honored for being able to cooperate and share with AMCA this opportunity for the joint organization of the 31st CILAMCE in the “MECOM del Bicentenario”, in 2010, reinstating the historic links between Brazil and Argentina.
